IR Domehawk has been designed in partnership with Videoswitch to meet the requirements of organisations that need to monitor areas where there is insufficient lighting for traditional CCTV cameras
The IR Domehawk features built-in infra-red illumination
Fylde Borough Council in Lancashire has installed IR Domehawk, a new camera from MEL Secure Systems, the leading developer of rapid deployment CCTV surveillance solutions.  The IR Domehawk features built-in infra-red illumination and 160Gb DVR as well as giving full 360 degree pan and tilt night vision at ranges up to 100 metres.  It will enable Fylde to monitor both lit and unlit areas around the clock and reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour in parks, graveyards and other troublespots.

It has high performance IR LEDs that turn on automatically when the camera switches to black and white mode as light conditions change.  The invisible IR beam moves with the dome to only illuminate the area that the camera is looking at instead of trying to floodlight the whole area.

According to Martin Brownlow, CCTV Manager at Fylde Borough Council:  "The MEL IR Domehawk will enable us to effectively monitor unlit areas both day and night to reduce anti-social behaviour."

Transmission is via COFDM Video and UHF Telemetry used enabling high quality, interference free images to be received at distances of up to 4km without requiring line of sight.  IR Domehawk is available in 1.3GHz, 2.4GHz, and 5.8GHz bands and multiple cameras can be deployed within a single frequency.  It is compatible with all existing MEL rapid deployment kits.

According to Peter Druzyc, Managing Director of MEL Secure Systems:  "This new camera system meets the increasing demand for energy-saving solutions whilst delivering the highest level of performance in any application."

MEL Secure Systems Ltd is one of the UK's leading specialists in the field of video transmission and encryption products.  It offers a range of standard products as well as a bespoke design and build service to suit individual applications.  An in-house design and development philosophy provides MEL with an unprecedented lead in new product design and very short turnaround time to market.  MEL solutions are used by CCTV installers and are available through many of the major CCTV distributors, whilst the more specialised equipment is used by government agencies throughout the world.
