NEXT Biometrics has extended its partnership with a U.S. based, Identity and Access Management (IAM) and biometric authentication solution provider.
NEXT’s technology is already embedded in the partner’s existing solutions, and now provides the foundation for the latest solution in its range.
These solutions help governments and corporations in the fight against cyber threats, like phishing, by moving to passwordless user identification through zero-trust multi-factor authentication.

The partners have signed a multi-year deal for NEXT’s Oyster III solution with a first order valued at NOK 2.5 million and deliveries starting in the third quarter of 2025. The global IAM market is currently valued at USD 22.9 billion and is projected to grow to USD 65.5 billion by 2034.

Oyster III solution
The Oyster III solution enhances security and streamlines workflows by replacing slower, less secure sign-in methods. It is built to support the latest software and ensures compatibility with the new and existing hardware via the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF).
NEXT’s Active Thermal technology uses both heat from the finger and 3D imaging to authenticate the user. This enables superior liveness detection to combat spoofing attacks, when compared with other fingerprint authentication technologies. The user experience is optimised by minimising false acceptance and false rejection rates while incorporating LED support to prompt the user on finger placement and completion.
Over the last 25 years, NEXT Biometrics has shipped more than 10 million sensors. Its Active Thermal technologies are certified by entities including Aadhaar, FBI-PIV, MOSIP Compliance, and NIBSS, and have been implemented in countries including Bangladesh, China, Ghana, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, U.S., and Vietnam.
