Intellian has successfully partnered with SES, a prominent satellite service provider, to supply user terminals for SES's advanced O3b mPOWER communications system. The agreement follows a successful co-development phase intended to enhance SES's Ka-band Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) services. This update to SES's network promises to deliver low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity globally, accommodating speeds from several megabits to multiple gigabits per second. Intellian's terminals will play a crucial role in enabling these services.

The agreement outlines Intellian's development of a diverse portfolio of terminals, ranging in size from 85cm to 2.4m, to leverage the full potential of SES's upgraded MEO system. These terminals will deliver scalable solutions tailored for a variety of sectors, including Government, Cruise, Energy, Maritime, Mining, and Telecommunications.

Intellian’s new product line includes single, dual, and tri-band systems, offering SES customers the flexibility to connect with the O3b mPOWER MEO service and SES's existing satellite fleet. The agreement incorporates current Intellian products, offering cost-effective conversion kits for customers wishing to upgrade their existing antennas to the O3b mPOWER service.

SES can fulfil this need using their new MEO satellite network that operates 8,000 km above Earth, ensuring high-capacity connectivity with minimal latency. Intellian’s range of terminals will be available in the first quarter of 2022.

As part of the new product portfolio, Intellian will provide single, dual and tri-band systems. These will enable SES’s customers the flexibility to access its next-generation O3b mPOWER MEO service as well as its entire existing fleet of over 70 geostationary and MEO satellites.
The agreement also covers current Intellian products, with easy, cost effective conversion kits available to provide existing owners of Intellian’s NX, v240M 2 and v240MT 2 antennas a pathway to upgrade to the O3b mPOWER service.
