Geutebruck's model IP video security solution protects Saudi Port Yanbu
At King Fahd Industrial Port at Yanbu in Saudi Arabia the CCTV system has to provide high security for valuable cargos and infrastructure. When the original IP system proved disappointing, it was upgraded with Geutebruck servers, management system, video analysis and GUI, and is now so successful that the Saudi Ports Authority sees it as a model for other ports.
The previous installation had 245 analogue cameras along the perimeter fence, Axis encoders, and an alarm contact interface with the perimeter protection system; a management system and alarm GUI, together with 32 servers, 32 monitors, 32 keyboards and 32 mice.
Unfortunately it exhibited poor system availability, network problems, poor system control and very slow switching. It took up to three seconds to switch a camera image to a display screen. The GUI was unable to show multiple alarms or multiple cameras; and each monitor could only show pictures from 2 or 3 particular servers.
