Securing a shopper’s paradise: John Lewis selects Honeywell’s access control & intruder alarm solutions

Since the completion of the £1-billion regeneration project of Liverpool’s city centre in 2008, over 1.5 million people have come to visit Liverpool’s newly revitalized shopping district. Leading UK retail group John Lewis opened a new store in the new Liverpool One retail complex.

To address the myriad of security concerns faced by large retail organizations, John Lewis invested in Honeywell’s WIN-PAK access control solution and Galaxy Dimension intruder alarm system. Orion Security installed the system in close collaboration with  consultants, Dowling Blunt. Benefits of the integrated access system include reduced false alarms, cashless vending for employees, and the ability to manage manual overrides in the event of an incident.

Furthermore, the beauty of the WIN-PAK managed system is that it can be rolled out easily at other stores around the country. Paul Newbury, Development Manager of Business Protection at John Lewis applauds the system saying: “It’s been a great investment as we are able to seamlessly expand the system in the existing sites or we can add new sites without significant cost to the business.”
