The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) recently upgraded to AMAG Symmetry Access Control and Video Management system. Over 10,000 students use cards to gain access to resident/student hall and special events across campus.
CCTV cameras monitor large outdoor areas and entrances. To enter dorm rooms students have to pass through three tiers of security. NJIT’s security team assigns and removes nearly 30,000 access privileges each semester.
In order to manage such huge numbers, AMAG’s professional services department developed a custom middleware solution to integrate with the institute’s Banner Student Information System.
The system compares the two databases and provides an accurate list of students who need symmetry access cards and privileges, saving hours of administrative time for the university.
