Durite unveils safety innovations at FORS 2025

Durite, a UK pioneer in transport safety, lighting and auto electrical parts for commercial vehicles, will unveil two of its latest innovations at this year’s FORS Annual Conference 2025, on 23 October at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham. The recently announced products reflect Durite’s continued commitment to advancing safety solutions for the transport sector, says the company. Approximately 1,800 bridge strikes occur annually in the UK, costing taxpayers an estimated £23 million per year and causing hours of delays. In addition, fleet operators, drivers, and their insurance providers may be held liable for bridge repair costs, road closures, and rail service disruptions. Low bridge detection system                    The system delivers accurate warnings via Durite’s connected R-Watch display To help prevent these incidents, Durite’s low bridge detection system uses smart, AI-powered camera technology to detect and alert drivers of high vehicles approaching low bridges, up to 200 meters ahead, while also reading and interpreting safety height signage. High-accuracy 10Hz GPS, paired with the UK low bridge database, provides precise location-based alerts. By factoring in vehicle, trailer, and cargo heights, the system delivers accurate warnings via Durite’s connected R-Watch display, giving drivers ample time to select an alternative route. The system is fully compatible with the company’s range of vehicle safety camera equipment, providing seamless integration for fleet operators. HINVII warning lamp Meanwhile, the new HINVII warning lamp combines industry standard, traditional amber LED strobing with high-intensity non-visible intelligent illumination to dramatically improve visibility of hi-vis clothing, signs, cones, and machinery in low-light or poor weather conditions. Multi-programmable flash patterns operate on 12/24V systems, while the rugged IP67/IP69K-rated design ensures reliable performance in demanding environments, including high traffic areas, roadside incidents, and industrial sites. Furthermore, the warning lamp enhances safety without creating distracting glare, making it ideal for sectors such as waste management, construction, highway maintenance, logistics, and utilities. FORS conference This year’s FORS Conference, themed "Future Focus: Equipping Fleets for Tomorrow," is expected to bring together around 500 road transport professionals to explore industry trends, including fleet safety innovations, compliance updates, and operational efficiency. “The theme of this year’s FORS conference, 'Future Focus', perfectly reflects our mission to innovate for safety,” says John Nobbs, UK Sales Manager at Durite. “Our new AI low bridge detection system and HINVII warning lamp are good examples of how we are equipping road transporters and vehicle operators across multiple industries with smarter, safer technology.” Comprehensive suite of solutions Durite will be co-exhibiting on Stand 29 with Fleet Sense, a major independent transport consultancy with over 25 years’ experience, offering a comprehensive suite of solutions and support in partnership with industry pioneers including Durite, Webfleet Solutions, Eurora, and FleetCheck. “Working alongside Fleet Sense further allows us to offer operators expert consultancy and tailored guidance to optimise fleet safety, improve efficiency, reduce risks and enhance compliance,” adds John Nobbs.

Durite AI low bridge detection system at RTX Show 2025

Durite, a pioneer in vehicle safety, lighting and auto electrical parts, will be showcasing its new AI Low Bridge Detection System at this year’s RTX show in Stoneleigh, on 24th-26th June. The Durite Low Bridge Detection System utilises Smart AI-powered camera technology to detect and alert over-height vehicles to the presence of low bridges and also reads safety height signage. Durite’s range of vehicle safety The system is compatible with Durite’s range of vehicle safety camera equipment High accuracy 10Hz GPS, paired with the UK low bridge database, provides precise location-based alerts. With the use of the vehicle’s trailer and cargo heights, the system provides accurate warnings and alerts to the driver via the connected R-Watch Display within the vehicle – giving the driver ample time to choose an alternative route. The system is compatible with Durite’s range of vehicle safety camera equipment. “In the UK, heavy goods vehicle (HGV) bridge strikes are a significant problem,” says John Nobbs, UK Sales Manager for Durite. “They cause delays, disruptions and potentially high cost to the operator and the rail and road networks.” Latest AI technology and GPS According to Network Rail, there are over 1,532 bridge strikes annually, averaging one every six hours, and costing the rail industry over £20 million.  “With up to 5 bridge strikes recorded each day in the UK, Durite recognised the need to produce an advanced detection system which can significantly reduce the risk of collision for commercial vehicle operators. Our new AI Low Bridge Detection System aims to achieve this by using a combination of market-proven technology.” GPS only systems can be ineffective in rural areas and built-up cities where large buildings lead to interference and signal loss. For Durite, using both the latest AI technology and GPS ensures the most accurate results for the fleet operators. Commercial and emergency vehicle sectors Visitors to the stand will be able to see a wide selection of the latest vehicle lighting and vehicle safety solutions At this year’s RTX show, Durite is co-exhibiting with sister company ECCO, on stand R40, Hall 1. ECCO is a pioneer renowned particularly for designing and manufacturing alarms and lighting solutions, including lightbars, beacons, and other safety products for the commercial and emergency vehicle sectors. Visitors to the stand will be able to see a wide selection of the latest vehicle lighting and vehicle safety solutions from both companies, including a range of energy-efficient work lamps, perfect for electric vehicles. Durite’s high-definition DVR (driver video recording) kits, 4G live-streaming DVR kits, CCTV kits and blind spot detection systems for HGV and vans will be on display, while ECCO will be showcasing its latest range of alarms, emergency lighting, sidebars and safety solutions, including the new EVAS alarm specifically designed for electric vehicles. Network of distributors and installers “We have some great products and innovations to show at this year’s RTX,” adds John Nobbs. “Together, with ECCO, we are providing operators with the complete range of premium vehicle safety and lighting solutions - and all under one roof!” Durite, a FORS Associate, has been supplying vehicle cameras for more than 20 years and has provided more than 100,000 systems to operators throughout the UK. An extensive network of distributors and approved installer services the whole of UK and Ireland.
