Durite, a UK pioneer in transport safety, lighting and auto electrical parts for commercial vehicles, will unveil two of its latest innovations at this year’s FORS Annual Conference 2025, on 23 October at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham.
The recently announced products reflect Durite’s continued commitment to advancing safety solutions for the transport sector, says the company.
Approximately 1,800 bridge strikes occur annually in the UK, costing taxpayers an estimated £23 million per year and causing hours of delays. In addition, fleet operators, drivers, and their insurance providers may be held liable for bridge repair costs, road closures, and rail service disruptions.
Low bridge detection system
The system delivers accurate warnings via Durite’s connected R-Watch display
To help prevent these incidents, Durite’s low bridge detection system uses smart, AI-powered camera technology to detect and alert drivers of high vehicles approaching low bridges, up to 200 meters ahead, while also reading and interpreting safety height signage.
High-accuracy 10Hz GPS, paired with the UK low bridge database, provides precise location-based alerts. By factoring in vehicle, trailer, and cargo heights, the system delivers accurate warnings via Durite’s connected R-Watch display, giving drivers ample time to select an alternative route.
The system is fully compatible with the company’s range of vehicle safety camera equipment, providing seamless integration for fleet operators.
HINVII warning lamp
Meanwhile, the new HINVII warning lamp combines industry standard, traditional amber LED strobing with high-intensity non-visible intelligent illumination to dramatically improve visibility of hi-vis clothing, signs, cones, and machinery in low-light or poor weather conditions.
Multi-programmable flash patterns operate on 12/24V systems, while the rugged IP67/IP69K-rated design ensures reliable performance in demanding environments, including high traffic areas, roadside incidents, and industrial sites.
Furthermore, the warning lamp enhances safety without creating distracting glare, making it ideal for sectors such as waste management, construction, highway maintenance, logistics, and utilities.
FORS conference
This year’s FORS Conference, themed "Future Focus: Equipping Fleets for Tomorrow," is expected to bring together around 500 road transport professionals to explore industry trends, including fleet safety innovations, compliance updates, and operational efficiency.
