Team leaders and senior managers can now have greater control over the movements and whereabouts of all their personnel, real-time, thanks to a new GPRS wireless tracking system introduced by bconnected Ltd.  The technology has been designed as an improvement on traditional guard tour systems.

Security managers and guarding service providers can now track the movements of individual team members in real time, giving the highest possible control over both team efficiency and health & safety.  The system will be particularly beneficial where security staffs are working alone, or where there are larger teams on complex assignments with regular patrols to make.

The itrac system can deliver instant alert notifications if a patrol is missed, or if a team member is unexpectedly absent - allowing managers to take action on the spot.  Full audit reports are provided in a clear format via web access 24/7 allowing them to investigate and follow up afterwards.

Security officers using the system simply enter their unique 4-digit PIN code into the wall-mounted itrac keypads, authenticating the identity of the individual, the location and the site.  Each time the data is put into the keypad it is uploaded via GPRS and processed instantly at the itrac data centre.

Warnings can be sent if pre-defined activity does not take place and data can be viewed real time on a secure customer portal.  Managers can specify exactly how, and when, they want reports - for example on any internet-enabled device, PC or laptop, or as a printed, faxed or emailed report.

This information shows, at any point, exactly how the security team is performing.  "The itrac system offers important benefits for health & safety, time and attendance and service level delivery," says bconnected MD Darren Marsh.  "This development goes far beyond the traditional guard tour formula and gives real-time control, and reassurance, to both security managers and contract companies."

The company, which aims to improve the efficiency of personnel operations for its clients, is also working with a number of major organisations to develop further new solutions for release over the next six months.
