The opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as some of the athletic events, will be held at the newly-constructed Beijing National Stadium. When completed, the stadium will be able to seat over 90,000 spectators.

Realising the importance of spectator safety within the venue, decision-makers are depending on Vicon's cameras to monitor the stadium.
Vicon's Surveyor VFT day/night dome cameras were chosen because of their excellent record for performance and reliability, and will be installed around the stadium along with fixed cameras on Vicon's Vistar pan & tilt drives.
