MEL Secure Systems, the leading developer of surveillance and security solutions, has launched Warrior, a new high speed PTZ CCTV camera. It features a combination of wide and narrow beam LED infra-red (IR) illumination and 360 degree pan and tilt night vision to deliver class leading performance at ranges of up to 150 metres. Uniquely, it is the only similarly specified camera to include a rain wiper blade as standard.
Warrior is equipped with two banks of 4th generation IR lamps controlled by a responsive short and long throw LED IR matrix. The wide angle lamps provide illumination at close range without over saturating the images – a common problem with traditional IR lamps used by other manufacturers. The camera automatically switches to the narrow angle lamps as it zooms in to capture events at greater distances. This reduces power consumption as well as raising image quality.
