Axis Communications AXIS P7216 is a 16-channel video encoder that offers easy and cost effective integration of analogue cameras into an IP-based video surveillance system. It is ideal for small to medium-sized installations. It can be used as a standalone unit or be mounted in a 19-inch rack. It offers one H.264 and one Motion JPEG stream per channel. A single Ethernet port serves all 16 channels. The encoder is also equipped with an SFP slot, which enables the use of fibre optics. It also offers intelligent video capabilities such as video motion detection and active tampering alarm. The video encoder also provides pan, tilt and zoom support, enabling control of analogue PTZ cameras.
