Honeywell Security Intrusion detection
Intelligent intrusion detection detects movement or unauthorised activity in a sensitive or high security area. From detecting suspicious activity at a chemical plant or unlawful entry at an airline hangar facility, intrusion detection solutions help proactively identify threats before they escalate. The performance of an intelligent intrusion detection system is a balance between detection performance and nuisance alarm rates. Any system can be tuned to provide a very high detectionprobability but at the expense of a greatly increased number of nuisance alarms. The challenge is to increase detection probability while maintaining a low nuisance alarm rate. The Xtralis ADPRO Presidium uses sophisticated learning techniques to maximise the detection probability and nuisance alarm rates in a wide range of environmental conditions for a wide range of sites. The ongoing learning process adapts the system to changing environmental conditions. Such techniques of environmental learning offer significantly better ‘all weather' performance by distinguishing between the extremes of heavy snow and rapid cloud movement, recognising the affected areas of the scene and optimising the detection process accordingly. With good design methodology and installation practice, intelligent intrusion detection provides a very high level of security in many applications. Xtralis intrusion detection dual-technology platform With many specifications calling for complementary dual-technology intrusion detection, Xtralis has the ideal solution. The Xtralis intrusion detection platform offers true dual-technology protection with integrated alarm verification capability. Xtralis combines our best-in-class ADPRO PIR detectors with ADPRO Presidium, the most advanced video-based intrusion detection appliance on the market today, for a comprehensive intrusion detection solution. Unlike traditional dual-technology intrusion detection, using passive infrared and microwave radar, the Xtralis solution uses the PRO detectors and takes advantage of the CCTV system commonly in place to conduct alarm verification. While the CCTV system remains available for alarm verification, Xtralis Presidium Mini and Presidium leverage this infrastructure to minimise installed costs. At the same time, the ease of installation and unparalleled probability of detection at near nuisance alarm-free operation greatly increases site security.
PSTN based audio interface module. Audio Controller PCB connects to panel and Phone line. Gives 2 audio channels as standard. Digital Audio bus allows 8 additional audio MUX units. Each audio channel is mapped to 1 system group. Optional 5-10 seconds of Pre and post-alarm recording is stored.
The NEW RF Portal wireless system expander module enables a total wireless offering for Honeywell’s Galaxy Dimension and G2 intruder alarm systems, making wireless possible for all types and sizes of installations. There can be up to eight RF portals in an installation which coupled with unique bidirectional radio and agile routing technologies, ensures that the wireless sensors and the control panel can talk to each other using the strongest available signal path.
Honeywell exhibited a comprehensive range of new and innovative security solutions at this year's Security fair in Essen.Biometric solution technology advancements include the Accentic fingerkey reader with Ident Key 3 technology - the first VdS-certified switching device with biometric identification features and MIFARE technology.Extension of peripheral device portfolio available from Honeywell Security & Data Collection will include numerous new BUS modules and components which can be integrated in the MB series central intrusion alarm control panels via bus technology.Connection of smoke detectors to intrusion detection systems is made possible using the new smoke detector sockets - available in wired and wireless versions giving installers freedom of choice. It is then possible to connect professional smoke detectors to the MB series intrusion alarm control panels via BUS and wireless technology. The new IQ SystemControl software provides simple control of intrusion detection and access control functions for operators, and delivers reliable security system control for both users and operators.Honeywell Security & Data Collection will also present the new Fusion III range of digital video recorders with intelligent video analysis software for the automatic recognition of security-relevant incidents, and the new ANPR software for car registration plate recognition. The surveillance portfolio has been extended to include new camera ranges that can be directly connected via IP networks. For more information, click here.
Honeywell Viewguard mirror optic motion sensors combine reliability with excellent detection performance to create the next generation of motion sensor technology from Honeywell Security. This new innovative range is very suitable for installations in customer sites requiring a high level of security such as banks, jewellers, casinos and museums. The Viewguard high-quality mirror optics delivers optimum signal strength, and maintains the highest detection levels for the maximum protection of business' assets and people. Viewguard infrared and microwave signal processing technology also significantly reduces false alarms and minimises inconvenient interruptions for installers and end-users. For security installers, Viewguard makes installation easy due to its plug-in concept and its abundance of wiring space. The combination of an attractive enclosure, extremely low current consumption and reduced false alarms, makes Viewguard particularly appealing to installers who are looking to gain value on installation time and potential service calls. "The Viewguard range of motion sensors has been designed to meet the needs of the highest risk applications. We've used the latest technology and focused on combining the key functions demanded by end-users, so that Viewguard delivers the highest levels of security while reducing inconvenient false alarms," said Farshid Ossareh, Product Marketing Leader, Honeywell Security. "With this solution we are offering end-users that extra level of protection to give them total peace of mind and saving installers precious time."Further key Viewguard features include multi-level alarm thresholds and anti-masking technology which ensure highly reliable protection in even the most sensitive security environments. By employing multi-level alarm thresholds the sensor uses signal strength to quickly and accurately identify an intrusion, while limiting false alarms by only triggering when the detection signal is strong. The anti-mask function employs two active infrared circuits; one protecting the lens from spraying, taping and covering, while the other detects any blocking of the sensor at close range. If either circuit is interrupted, an alarm will immediately trigger and alert security to the location of the sensor.
The SEF8M is a solution if external audible alarming is needed on a wireless system. The SEF8M offers reduced operating costs due to its 4 year battery life and its integrated spirit level and low battery indication make installation and maintenance of the SEF8M is easy

Galaxy Flex is a new integrated intruder and door control security solution ideal for small to mid-sized commercial deployments and large residential sites. Galaxy Flex offers all the features of the Galaxy Dimension security solution in a fully compliant EN50131-1 Security Grade 2, PD6662:2004/2010 system. For installers, Galaxy Flex ensures a faster and more cost effective installation. Its robust plastic housing allows radio and communication modules to be mounted directly inside the product casing speeding up installation, and reducing the number of boxes and cabling required. In addition, the moulded design allows modules to be quickly clipped into place, and the hinged, removable lid offers flexibility during installation. Simplicity and ease of use are central to the Galaxy Flex programming functionality, which has a quick start guide and easy-to-navigate menu. The product also incorporates a ‘plug and play' feature, which automatically detects remote peripherals once the panel is powered up. This reduces training requirements and speeds up installation. Programming using a PC is also fast and simple using the Galaxy Flex intuitive Windows programming interface either directly via USB cable connection or remotely via Ethernet, GPRS or PSTN. Galaxy Flex also comes equipped with flexible communications and power options, with multiple dual path communications options that allow existing communication structures to be used for alarm signalling and remote servicing, and a variety of power connections available to meet installers' preferences. Galaxy Flex includes a range of intuitive and attractive end user interfaces such as the Galaxy TouchCenter keypad and the new MK8 keypad. All user interfaces have optional proximity operation so users will not need to remember a PIN code, thus reducing user errors, false alarms and potentially unnecessary engineer call outs. Galaxy TouchCenter provides an attractive touch-screen interface, which simplifies operation with its intuitive graphical menu and on screen help files. Minimising disruption to home life or business operations is also central to the solution, featuring wireless options - based on Honeywell's patented bi-directional radio and Agile Routing technologies - to deliver reliable high security with rapid and unobtrusive installation. Galaxy Flex can also be managed and maintained remotely, allowing an installer to monitor an end user's alarm system, and respond quickly and appropriately to alarm activations.
