Vicon Industries provides security solution for Humbly Grove gas storage reservoirs

Between 1 and 1.5 kilometres underground, in Hampshire, England, are the gas storage reservoirs of Humbly Grove. The Humbly Grove facility sits above this 10-billion cubic foot storage site, managing the storage and release of natural gas to meet seasonal demands

Obviously, security is a top concern, and Vicon provides the solution. Vicon Surveyor cameras with 35-times zoom are mounted around the site, providing 24-7 video to a ViconNet video management system.

Video travels long distances to the control room over fiber optic cable. There, it is used not only for security purposes but also to ensure the safety of facility workers. ViconNet allows live video and up to three months of recorded video to be called up with the click of a mouse.
