Residential Complex in USA is Secured by NVT’s Ethernet over 2-Wire Eo2 Transceiver
The “TWELVE” is Atlanta's premier live-work-play condo community. Its 26 stories of luxury condominium residences are built atop a stylish boutique hotel and located in the heart of “Intown” Atlanta.
The complex had over 80 cameras covering the facility and grounds but to meet today’s higher surveillance standards, the original analog cameras installed in 2005 needed to be replaced with new IP-based equipment.
The application challenge was that the system cabling distances far exceeded the Ethernet standard of 328ft, with some distances as much as 1,200ft.
In searching for a solution, Network Video Technologies’ (NVT's) Eo2 over 2-Wire product was the only technology capable of leveraging just one pair of existing cable to power the specified 12 watt IP/PoE cameras at those distances.
The solution meant no additional costs were incurred to replace the existing network cabling, nor was there any need to provision new IDF closets or use Ethernet cable extenders to support the distances.
In selecting NVT’s Eo2 Ethernet solution, The “TWELVE” was able to deploy a cost-effective state-of-the-art surveillance upgrade, using existing cable, at extended distances with minimal disruption to retail or residential customers.
