Dahua IP megapixel cameras help protect Pescara Port
Pescara harbour, an Italian port and significant trading and tourism hub stretching along the Adriatic Coast, includes a dock, freight yard and sea bridge that is one of the largest cyclo-pedestrian throughways in Europe. Part of the challenge of securing the port was the unpredictable weather and high humidity. To overcome these problems, Dahua and Videotrend approached them from a structural perspective. They implemented a new system with a ring networking structure that utilises optical fibre instead of conventional star-topology, and configured the radio transmission system at 2.4/5.8GHz to guarantee adequate bandwidth of 108Mbps for the cycling lane. Dahua 2- and 3-megapixel IR cameras and 2Mp 20x speed domes were installed along with the DH-SVR3016H NVR to satisfy the storage needs of a large volume of footage. IP66 speed dome cameras installed on the bridge can withstand the harsh weather conditions; and their PTZ function helps with vehicle tracking. Pasquale Totaro, CEO of Videotrend said “The local officials are satisfied with this project as it not only helps keep visitors safe, but also makes the whole surveillance system run smoothly.”
