Arecont Vision's Panoramic Megapixel cameras secures Absa Bank by monitoring ATM's, High traffic areas

Absa Bank is a division of Absa Group, one of South Africa’s largest financial services groups. The bank wanted a new surveillance system that it could use to streamline processes, reduce costs and monitor interactions with customers. Absa Bank decided to install a megapixel surveillance system built around Arecont Vision’s megapixel cameras. The system includes panoramic cameras to watch over customer queues, ATMs and the main banking hall as well as cameras positioned behind teller stations to closely monitor transactions between bank employees and clients. It also offers automatic motion detection. The security operator is able to view the full resolution field of view at the same time as up to four close-up regions of interest, for instance a person’s face. The images supplied provide excellent detail for forensic investigations and have allowed Absa Bank to create a database of suspected criminals from the CCTV images. Alex De Barros of AV Enforce Electronics, the system’s installer, said “Arecont Vision outperforms all the current competitors. We were able to capture images for the bank that were never achieved before.”
