Keepit, the pioneer in SaaS data protection, announced that Dan Middleton, former VP at Veeam, has been appointed as its new VP for the UK and Ireland. Middleton will grow Keepit’s UKI sales team, accelerate pipeline generation, and drive the expansion of Keepit’s local partner ecosystem with the regional partner management team. Additionally, Middleton is responsible for Eastern Europe, Middle East and South Africa. Prior roles of Middleton Middleton brings a wealth of proven go-to-market expertise and leadership to Keepit With over 20 years’ experience in IT sales leadership, Middleton brings a wealth of proven go-to-market expertise and leadership to Keepit. His appointment follows an 11-year tenure at Veeam UKI, where he played a key role in strengthening the company’s market presence to number one in the region. Data sovereignty “Keepit is solving one of the most urgent challenges organisations face today: protecting and controlling their data in a complex, fast-moving, and highly regulated landscape. With data sovereignty continuing to rise up the boardroom agenda, businesses need practical, proven solutions." "My priority now is to build on momentum in the UK and Ireland, working closely with our channel partners to drive growth and help more organisations take control of their data, wherever it resides,” said Middleton. Bold growth objectives Middleton joins Keepit at a time when organisations are under significant pressure to protect their data “We’re incredibly excited to have Dan on board,” said Keepit chief revenue officer, Craig Bumpus. “He’ll be leading an already strong and experienced team dedicated to helping organisations protect their data." "This role is critical to our continued growth in the region and with Dan’s expertise, we’re set to meet some bold growth objectives that will take us into strategic accounts and help expand our customer base even further. Following our recent alliance with Ingram Micro in the UK we are well positioned to expand our UK footprint.” Data protection services Middleton joins Keepit at a time when organisations are under significant pressure to protect their data and metadata generated by their SaaS applications. However, SaaS providers have no obligation to offer data protection services alongside their tools. Thanks to datacentres located in the UK and complete independence from global hyperscalers, Keepit’s backup and recovery solution ensures that organisations retain complete access to their data at all times. Contribution to data resilience Organisations must take a more strategic approach to managing their data With Keepit, organisations have the confidence that data remains under their control, even if the original SaaS system is unavailable, or a third party takes unauthorised control of data stored within a public cloud. This is a critical contribution to data resilience in the context of UK digital sovereignty. A wave of cyberattacks - including recent high-profile attacks against major UK retailers - has pushed data protection back into the spotlight. And with both the UK and EU tightening data sovereignty laws, organisations must take a more strategic approach to managing their data: classifying, prioritising and understanding its value. Cloud backup and data management services Keepit supports this by offering secure, compliant cloud backup and data management services that ensure data is protected, easily accessible and stored according to local sovereignty requirements. This enables organisations to maintain control, meet regulatory demands, and recover quickly from cyber incidents. Based at Keepit’s continuously growing UK headquarters in London, Middleton will accelerate adoption of Keepit’s solutions by targeting industries facing some of the toughest data governance challenges, where organisations are subject to numerous regulations, including aligning their data policies with UK and EU legislation.

The solution combines Veeam Backup & Replication™ software, part of the Veeam Data Platform, with Scality ARTESCA — cyber-resilient object storage software — in a single, streamlined software appliance. Scality ARTESCA+ Veeam Scality ARTESCA+ Veeam is a unified software appliance that provides a combined deployment of best-of-breed ARTESCA and Veeam software co-located on a single host server. The solution completely eliminates the need for separate (physical or virtual) infrastructure for Veeam, thereby reducing deployment complexity, time, and cost by up to 30%. The solution can be deployed on the customer's choice of hardware platforms, such as HPE, Supermicro, and Lenovo. ARTESCA+ Veeam unified software appliance Scality ARTESCA+ Veeam builds upon the three once told software, hardware, and virtual appliance “As the #1 global pioneer in data resilience, Veeam is thrilled to collaborate with Scality on the launch of the ARTESCA+ Veeam unified software appliance,” said Andreas Neufert, Vice President of Product Management, Alliances at Veeam. “This innovative solution simplifies the deployment of our industry-pioneering data resilience software alongside Scality's robust object storage, making it easier for organisations to enhance their cyber resilience. Key benefits of ARTESCA+ Veeam Ultra-simplified, foolproof deployment: Ensures fast and simple configuration of backup and storage for immutability and end-to-end cyber-resilience. Increased security: Veeam and Scality ARTESCA running on a single, CORE5-hardened software appliance built on zero-trust principles provides the most secure operation. Restricted credential and endpoint exposure: Access key/secret key stays within ARTESCA, and the S3 endpoint no longer needs external DNS resolution, reducing attack vectors. Embedded firewall protection: Predefined firewall secures Veeam components, enforcing zero trust and least privilege by restricting access to necessary ports. Secure Windows access: Managed through ARTESCA Identity Manager with MFA, ensuring only authorised users can log in. Non-disruptive integrity checks: Self-sufficient by design, the appliance runs SureBackup Lite and backup content scans independently — without impacting the production system. Predictable performance: Running Veeam and Scality ARTESCA on dedicated hardware provides consistent, predictable performance with greater resource availability than hypervisor-based deployments. Cost efficiency: The fully integrated ARTESCA+ Veeam software appliance streamlines operations and reduces acquisition, support, and operating costs by eliminating the need for separate server and storage infrastructure. Operational simplicity: A single, integrated dashboard within ARTESCA monitors both ARTESCA and Veeam components. Channel-friendly design: Simple sizing and ordering make sales and deployment effortless for resellers and customers.
