Sphere 3D’s SnapServer NAS chosen by ABP Tech for simplified networked video surveillance

ABP Tech couples SnapServer XSD and XSR NAS storage products with Mobotix surveillance cameras as a complete solution Sphere 3D Corp., offering a comprehensive portfolio of hybrid Cloud data storage, desktop virtualisation and containerisation offerings, and parent company of Overland Storage and Tandberg Data, recently announced that ABP Tech recommends SnapServer® as its Network Attached Storage (NAS) of choice. The IP technology solutions distributor and its system integrators have installed hundreds of SnapServers throughout the U.S. and prefer to include SnapServer as a bundle when deploying MOBOTIX’s high resolution video cameras. Multi megapixel camera data Today’s multi megapixel cameras generate vast amounts of data. Facilities with multiple video cameras need an effective solution to access and backup recorded content. As a result of superior reliability and features, ABP Tech couples SnapServer XSD and XSR NAS storage products with the Mobotix surveillance cameras as a complete solution. IP portfolio “We focus on a carefully selected IP product portfolio,” said Jim Molencupp, ABP Tech’s product manager for IP surveillance. “The products we choose are well targeted so that our resellers can offer premium solutions to their clients and rely on us for pre- and post-sales technical support. We specify SnapServers because of their quality and reliability – they just work! A secondary reason we see value in the SnapServer portfolio is the Snap Enterprise Data Replicator (Snap EDR™) function that allows scheduled replication, which some customers request.” MOBOTIX integration The SnapServer enterprise NAS family is integrated with the MOBOTIX video management software and MxRemotePreview software. As such, customers are able to set up and manage MOBOTIX IP cameras with any local or remote SnapServer device that is connected to their video surveillance network. This type of tight integration allows for rapid response to security or surveillance issues regardless of location. “Our long-standing technology partnership with MOBOTIX has enabled us to offer a tightly integrated storage and archive solution that delivers proven and consistent performance and reliability in a flexible and easy-to-use platform,” explains Tina Brown, VP of corporate programs and communications at Sphere 3D. “Our SnapServer NAS, along with our external RDX™ removable drive solution for archive storage, allows IP video data to be stored and then seamlessly exported without any loss of data integrity.  Owning the IP stack for our storage offerings enables us to create best-of-breed solutions so partners like ABP Tech can deploy quickly and assuredly.”

Sphere 3D SnapServer NAS and MOBOTIX cameras selected by BeIP to deliver integrated video surveillance in France

BeIP is offering the attractively-priced Sphere 3D - MOBOTIX bundle to address the burgeoning French video surveillance market Sphere 3D Corp., a containerisation, virtualisation and data management solutions provider, recently announced that its SnapServer® Network Attached Storage (NAS) products from its Overland Storage subsidiary are being bundled with MOBOTIX’s high resolution video cameras by French specialist IT distributor, BeIP. A long-time distributor of both Overland Storage and MOBOTIX products, BeIP is offering the attractively-priced bundle to address the burgeoning French video surveillance market. SnapServer - MxRemotePreview integration The SnapServer enterprise NAS family, integrated with the MOBOTIX video management software and MxRemotePreview software, allows customers to set up and manage MOBOTIX IP cameras with any local or remote SnapServer device that is connected to their video surveillance network, allowing rapid response to security or surveillance issues, regardless of location. BeIP is currently offering customers not only a competitive price for the product combination, but also a three year satisfaction guarantee, emphasising the quality and reliability of the solution. Seamlessly integrating hardware and software “Networked storage is increasingly becoming the primary architecture of choice for the direct-to-disk video surveillance. However deploying, configuring and operating these solutions can be a hurdle for end clients that are not fully versed in the integration of video surveillance with data storage, and aren’t aware of solutions like ours,” explains Graham Paterson, Senior Vice President of EMEA at Sphere 3D. “We have had a successful technology partnership with MOBOTIX for several years, enabling us to jointly develop software and hardware solutions that are seamlessly integrated and meet the requirements of the end-user community. We are excited to enable partners like BeIP to offer these video surveillance solutions to the market.” Added Paterson, “BeIP is a unique distributor partner for Sphere 3D in France.  Not only is the company very experienced in surveillance, it also chooses only the best products available, like bundling MOBOTIX and SnapServer. In this way, BeIP is guaranteed to deliver excellent, long-term value for customers.” “The affordable pricing and decentralised architectures of both the SnapServer XSD / XSR, and the MOBOTIX video security systems allows us to pursue and support a wide range of different applications: from just a few IP cameras linked via the Internet to large scale surveillance applications involving hundreds of cameras under centralised control,” said Rémy Millescamps, Business Development Director at BeIP. “Also, since no additional third-party software is required, we can deploy the integrated SnapServer and MOBOTIX bundle quickly and with minimal on-site testing, as the integrated solution has already been qualified by Overland Storage and MOBOTIX.”
