ScholarChip showcases One Card ID Manager software, Smart ID card issuance system with Zebra card printer and encoder ScholarChip® will be showcasing K12 school security products in Zebra Technologies Corporation’s Booth #6135, at ISC West, the security industry’s premier trade show in Las Vegas, April 6-8, 2016. ScholarChip will demonstrate its One Card ID Manager software, a cloud-based, easy-to-use Smart ID card issuance system with contactless smart cards and Zebra’s ZXP Series 3 card printer and encoder. Advanced student and campus safety solutions “The security industry realises the potential in K12 campus protection, and ScholarChip offers a host of products designed for that market,” said Maged Atiya, PhD, ScholarChip CEO/CTO. “Our Smart One Card fulfills an immediate security need for districts and is a straightforward path to advanced student and campus safety solutions.” ScholarChip’s One Card allows all doors in a building or across the district to be locked down with a single command, which can be issued from any wireless device or any computer. This immediacy improves time to action and can save lives. Also, an accurate location report is available on a tablet or computer that shows which staff members and students used their card for attendance and therefore can be identified in the building, in a specific room, which can help first responders react fast. To automate the process even more effectively, some districts provide their local police and fire departments with precinct- or school-specific ID Cards that allow them immediate access into school buildings. These companies recently announced their Affordable Smart Card ID Initiative, a cutting-edge subsidy programme that will enable more qualifying school districts to implement ultra-secure smart ID card systems for students and staff. ARMET, a national association of solution providers, will represent the program and provide installation, integration, sales, training and service of the software and hardware. ScholarChip’s One Card ID Manager software ScholarChip’s One Card ID Manager software manages the process that keeps schools secure while keeping students safe. Starting with a photograph of an individual in a school Student Information System (SIS), the system encodes a globally unique ID to that person and prints a Smart ID Card. ScholarChip uses the tightest international security standards (PCI, FISMA, SSAE16), which are the same that banks, credit card companies, and others use; individual information is secure; these cards are almost impossible to replicate. The ScholarChip One Card can integrate with modern and legacy school systems and easily connects to a host of services like automated attendance; cafeteria purchases; free and reduced lunch programme tracking; library checkouts; bus monitoring; staff time clocks; and other reportable activities throughout the campus. Also, in the case of emergency or lockdown situations, ScholarChip’s One Card ID system provides administrators and police with actionable safety information and greater control over the entire campus.
