Palmer Electric selects MDI's VIEWpoint Surveillance ManagementSystem to Secure Six Building Complex at Peterson AFB

MDI, Inc., the leading manufacturer of Unified Technologysolutions for the security industry today announced that it's VIEWpoint Surveillance Management products, built on ONE Unified Technology, have been selected by integration partner Palmer Electric to secure six buildings at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Peterson Air Force Base is home of the 21st Space Wing and Air Force Space Command.  MDI's VIEWpoint products will be installed and supported by Palmer to provide surveillance management and pre-emptive video security across the complex.  The initial product order is set to follow a phased distribution timeline, which is expected to cover a six month integration period.  Palmer is also in the process of installing a fibre-optic network backbone to the development.

On May 22nd of this year, MDI announced the first installation of a multi-phased unified access control project with Palmer Electric at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado under the NETCENTS contract led by Multimax, Inc.  The new Air Force project utilizes MDI's VIEWpoint digital video recorders, which are built on the ONE Unified Technology platform, and hundreds of VIEWpoint 20/20 dome security cameras.

"Palmer had many video sources available, but we chose the MDI solution because with the power of the ONE platform, we are able to scale the system to add access control and alarm management features for our customer as their security needs change.  The uniqueness of this system is that additions can be accomplished by simply unlocking software from the platform that is already on the DVR, which is truly an investment for our client" stated Cary Gulsby, Manager of Access Control and Security for Palmer Electric.  "As we complete our fibre optic network installation, we will have the capability of going base-wide with a complete and cost effective security command and control solution in the future," he added.

MDI re-entered the video security space in 2005 by launching its VIEWpoint Surveillance Management product line and strategically acquired California based Advanced Security Link in January of 2006 to expand this line.  VIEWpoint is now a key module in the ONE Unified Technology platform.
