VEREX, part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp., announces the release of Director V4.62, the latest version of the security management software used to manage all of VEREX's integrated products such as MONITOR xL, MONITOR ISM, and NetVision - and will be demonstrating it at IFSEC 2007.
"The new features in Director V4.62 were implemented to comply with the rigorous IT security policies of some of the world's largest financial institutions. These new features offer customers in this very important market segment a more robust software management solution," said Brian Morgan, VEREX's Product Manager for Integrated Systems.
New features and enhancements include:
- Authority Groups - This allows Systems Administrator to be able to manage groups of Authorities in multi-site applications where flexibility and ease of use for large quantities of authorities are required.
- One Million Events - When installed on an SQL server the limit of 250,000 events has been increase to 1,000,000 events. This makes it much easier for System Administrators to access archives and search for critical information in an audit trail of activity.
- Detailed Audit Trail - This monitors and records changes made by Users and Operators in the system, providing an increased level of system security.
- Enhanced Operator Password Security and Permissions - For higher security applications where the system has to meet stricter IT compliance standards.
- Floating GUI Clients - The GUI Clients in the Director Software are now ‘floating' giving the System Administrators greater access to the system from any number of PCs or workstations.
- Customizable message window at Login - Make every system unique with a customisable message or image upon login.
- Increased panel capacity - The main control panel capacity has now been increased from 60 panels per account to 100 panels allowing larger projects to be accommodated and providing increased expansion capability.
- Roll Call Functionality - At the simple push of a button on the GUI screen a report can e printed that will identify all users in the building.
- Time & Attendance Report - This has been enhanced to allow for individual reports by area.
- Multiple Languages - German and Italian have been added to the list of languages supported by Director. (Other languages already supported by the software are: English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Slovakian, Hungarian and Russian.)
