At this year's Security Excellence Awards, Siemens Building Technologies, Security Systems, not only won the event's most sought after accolade - the Security Installer of the Year Award - but also built on previous success by winning the Best Customer Care Initiative Award for the second year running.

Siemens received the Security Installer of the Year Award partly in recognition of the work it carried out under exceptionally difficult conditions in the aftermath of the London bombings of 7th July 2005.  The adjudicators for the Security Installer of the Year Award also took into account Siemens performance on the challenging Exchange Quay project in Salford, where all of the existing cameras on the 12-acre site were replaced and a new digital recording system installed in under four months.

Siemens repeated its success in the Best Customer Care Initiative Award by demonstrating and documenting its positive and enthusiastic approach to customer care, allied with an ambitious but well-defined program for continuous improvement.

The company's commitment to customer care is well illustrated by the fact that over one-third of its workforce has a customer care role, and the success of its approach is shown by a year-on-year growth of 18% in service business, together with a renewal rate of 92% for existing service customers at the end of their contracts.
