Axis Communications and HP announced today that they will partner to deliver a network scanning solution for small & medium-sized businesses (SMB). The HP Scanjet 7650n Network Scanner is an out-of-the box solution consisting of the AXIS 70U Network Document Server and the HP Scanjet 7650 Document Flatbed Scanner. The HP Scanjet 7650n Network Scanner is the ideal business document communicator and fax replacement for the specific needs of SMBs. The total value of this initial partnership for Axis is 360,000 EURO.
The digital sending package is designed to significantly lower costs and increase speed and reliability when compared to fax and traditional mail or courier. It can scan and send paper documents to email fileservers and be integrated with document archiving and databases with a built-in XML API. Powered by Axis’ Network Document Server, the HP Scanjet 7650n meets the growing demand within the small business sector which is being driven by heightened security, privacy awareness and the use of email as a communication and organising tool.
Users simply need to place a document in the scanner, select an email address from the distribution list on the AXIS 70U Network Document Server, and press ‘send’. The document is digitised and sent as an attachment to the recipient’s email inbox in three easy steps. It is essentially a very user-friendly, out-of-the-box solution for digitising and managing paper-based information, all for less than 1000 EURO (MRSP including VAT).

The HP Scanjet 7650n consists of the AXIS 70U and HP Scanjet 7650, will be priced at 999 EURO MRSP including VAT. It will be available in most markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa from February 1st, 2006 through HP channels.
