"With only 10 days to print the tickets before we had to start selling them, we were impressed with the excellent re-transfer printing quality and efficiency of the robust Fargo printers: An average of printing two cards with all the security features in just three minutes," customer said.

With the escalating attendance and press coverage of the 2008 Miss Universe competition in Vietnam, and the expected attendance of more than 18,000 spectators, the organization's top priority was to identify a way to avoid counterfeit tickets and ensure that unauthorized people weren't allowed into the event.

Enter HID Global:

TechCard, a local security solutions provider, quickly determined that the ideal anti-counterfeiting solution for the Miss Universe pageant was the HID Global's iCLASS® contactless smart card technology. This secure and affordable solution provided visual security and anti-counterfeiting features - with holograms pre-printed by Fargo HDP5000 card printer - to quickly and easily identify genuine cards as authorized tickets.

The results:

Two Fargo printers worked nonstop to print approximately 17,000 cards in record time. By using smart card technology provided by HID Global, the venue and pageant organizers were also able to keep track of all the tickets and secure the event so only authorized attendees were admitted. Fake and altered tickets were easily detected with this secure solution. Lastly, the HID Global badge had the additional, hidden benefit of being a unique "I was there" souvenir for attendees by which to always remember the occasion.
