National Sheriffs'​ Association headquarters is located in Alexandria, Virginia and offers training, information, court security services, jail information and other law enforcement services to sheriffs, deputies, and others throughout the nation. NSA has worked to forge cooperative relationships with local, state, and federal criminal justice professionals across the nation to network and share information about homeland security programs.

TrapWire is a threat detection and analysis system designed to provide greater situational awareness of physical security threats against a client site. The TrapWire network currently covers a broad spectrum of public and private sector entities, including military, transport, energy, law enforcement and hospitality sites. Users are provided analytic, operational and training support from SMEs in the areas of counter-terror and physical security.
