Axis’ latest addition to their IP product range, the 2191 Audio Module allows real time, 2-way audio communication to be bolted-on to existing IP camera applications. The combined products offer communication via microphones and loudspeakers along with the live images over networks and the Internet. Suitable for use in applications like:

Access control – enabling remote observer to communicate with people, rather than merely monitor images
Assistance and education – enabling remote participation and guidance from any location
Website experience – live video and audio streaming of promotions
Video conferencing – at a fraction of traditional costs

Additional info	Adds the ability to send and receive audio to Axis Network Cameras. Connects to the cameras via the serial port. All program code for the module is executed in the camera. Audio data is encoded in ADPCM format (G.721). An RTP header is added (RFC 1889) and the data is sent using HTTP. This allows the sound to be sent/received on all computers that can receive the image stream. The product works only with Internet Explorer.
