HID Global's iCLASS RPK40 is the latest addition to the multiCLASS family of card readers. The 13.56 MHz Contactless and 125 kHz proximity card reader with keypad will soon be available for customers to upgrade their current card system from the most popular proximity technologies to iCLASS credentials. The RPK40 combines a contactless card presentation with a personal identification number (PIN) to support dual authentication of identity. In continued support of the multiCLASS reader line, the RPK40 supports Indala 125 kHz proximity and AWID, in addition to HID proximity. The design of the multiCLASS reader allows project-specific formats and keys, and enables HID to support additional technologies as they become available. Unlike contactless smart card serial number readers, the RPK40 multiCLASS reader provides enhanced security through mutual authentication and data encryption.
