Alpro ensures safe travels onboard Caledonian MacBrayne ferries on Scottish west coast
Sailing through the dramatic scenery of Scotland’s west coast, Caledonian MacBrayne ferries take passengers past some of the most breathtaking landscapes and coastlines. The ferries serve over 45 ports and sail to 24 destinations including the Isles of Skye, Arran, and Mull. Travellers can chose from a variety of different excursions including the popular Whisky Trails, which take passengers around the island distilleries.
Caledonian MacBrayne wanted to ensure passengers were safe at all times so they could enjoy their travels without any threats to safety. This included making sure the ferries’ operational areas were restricted to authorised personnel. To achieve this, the company turned to Alpro to provide an appropriate access control solution. The keypads supplied by Alpro are both vandal-resistant and waterproof with an IP68 certification – the highest available in terms of protection against ingress of water. Slimline in design, the keypad has tamper resistant plugs, along with piezoelectric technology which converts pressure into electrical charge. The hard anodised graphics contribute to durability, ensuring good ware characteristics.
