Vicon introduces new H.264 PTZ camera dome

Available in either indoor or outdoor models and with a variety of mounting options, the new Vicon Surveyor-Mini camera dome provides flexibility and significant cost savings over previous SurveyorVFT models. The high quality video captured by the Surveyor-Mini unit can be transmitted either by using H.264 compression to minimise the impact on the network and storage or alternatively by using MPEG-4 compression via the powerful ViconNet software platform. There is also the option for analogue transmission with support for multiple control protocols.

Other key features of the Vicon Surveyor-Mini:

• 10x Optical Zoom featuring auto focus, auto iris and zoom tracking functions.
• High resolution - 500 TV Lines in colour mode and 570 TV Lines in BW mode are achieved using a SONY CCD
• Day & Night cameras with an infrared Cut-Filter (ICR) which automatically engages depending on ambient light levels, allowing the camera to be effective in day and night environments.
• DNR (Digital Noise Reduction). By using DNR technology, the amount of video noise has been significantly reduced while the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) and horizontal resolution have been improved. The result is clear and sharp images even in low light conditions.
• IP66 - All versions of the Surveyor-Mini domes are vandal-resistant. They are constructed of impact-resistant polycarbonate and secured by tamperproof screws. The standard configuration is clear domes for indoor models and smoked domes for outdoor units.
• Extended Temperature Range: Outdoor units include a blower and thermostatically-controlled heater.
