The AFI5100 is a programmable input controller used as part of a Vanderbilt integrated access control and security system. It provides a local interface between an Advanced Central Controller ACC and the devices used to monitor a facility; for example, duress alarms or infrared detectors. When an input device that is connected to an AFI5100 changes state, the AFI5100 registers the change of state and forwards this data to the ACC. After checking the validity of the data, the ACC sends the message to the Host system so the Alarm Handling mechanism can respond appropriately.
