In addition to reading cards and tags, it can be configured to process user data entered on its touch screen. It is fully capable of administering a system itself or forwarding data to a host over either cable or wirelessly. It robustly supports 3rd party GUIs, menus and buttons for mediating user interaction in addition to administering executables.
