GTT will showcase Opticom priority control solutions, Canoga traffic sensing solutions and also engage with other companies for future partnerships

During the 2016 Intertraffic show in Amsterdam (April 5-8), Global Traffic Technologies will be showing delegates innovative solutions for traffic sensing and signal priority.

The U.S. based company - makers of Opticom priority control solutions and Canoga traffic sensing solutions - began expanding into the international market last year by creating partnerships with established European companies.

GTT CEO Doug Roberts said the show is an opportunity to highlight the company's advances in traffic sensing and signal control technologies.

"Intertraffic gives GTT a fantastic opportunity to showcase our technology solutions to a large technology-savvy audience," Roberts said. "We're currently talking to number of international emergency trusts, transport agencies, as well as municipalities in Europe and the UK, about the merits of implementing Opticom in congested city areas."

Opticom control solution

Opticom technology can help reduce operating costs while simultaneously improving service, on-time performance and ridership. Opticom priority control solutions are now installed at more than 70,000 intersections and 70,000 vehicles within more than 3,100 municipalities worldwide, including installations in North America, Europe and the Middle-East.

Canoga sensing solution

Also on show will be Canoga, GTT's traffic sensing solution, which enables traffic engineers to make informed decisions regarding traffic flow and report traffic count to national agencies.

Roberts said, "Canoga can verify speeds, identify vehicle class, detect wrong-way motorists, enable safer intersections on rural highways and detect vehicles/bikes at the stop bar, all with Industry-leading precision that is immune from environmental factors, highly reliable and capable of centralized management."

International Expansion

In 2015 GTT embarked on a pro-active international sales and marketing strategy wanting to promote their technology to a larger global audience. The move stems from a deep understanding and appreciation that Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption (EVP), Transit Signal Priority (TSP) and traffic-sensing solutions are increasingly seen as mission critical in any geographical region with large congested cities.

VP of EMEA Markets Richard Eltze has been instrumental in forging new partnerships and he comments, "The international sales effort has been undertaken by forging strong regional partnerships and has been very successful. It has already lead to a number of new projects - set for implementation during 2016 and onwards. Intertraffic, is therefore also an excellent opportunity for companies wishing to engage with GTT for future partnerships. I would encourage any company interested in our technology to visit the stand and discuss possible routes to their respective markets."
