|sMart Data Warehouse serves as information source for big data applications
At Security Essen 2016, a fair for security and fire prevention from September 27th to 30th, NETAVIS Software GmbH presented a product premiere at the booth of the German distributor Ingram Micro: NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse.
“Our vast experience with IP video and seamlessly integrated video analytics shows that video analytics data is truly valuable only when combined with business and other relevant data and individually processed for each user. This has been our focus for the last two years. With sMart Data Warehouse, the NETAVIS platform for security and business is now complete, and we are in a position to generate real added value with IP video for our customers,” said Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO of NETAVIS Software GmbH.
NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse
NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse contextualises security and business data to provide user-specifically tailored information for each user and the tasks at hand. The professional data warehouse technology and elaborate interfaces facilitate the integration of video meta data, sales and revenue figures, weather information and much more. For business analysts, sMart offers versatile options to analyse and compare all available data in detail. In addition, sMart Data Warehouse serves as information source for big data applications.
NETAVIS Software has presented this step in the evolution of IP video at the Security Essen on Thursday, September 29th, at 11am at the booth of the Germany distributor Ingram Micro. This was also the start of the official product sales of sMart Data Warehouse via the international NETAVIS Software sales partner network.
"With sMart Data Warehouse, the NETAVIS platform for security and business is now complete, and we are in a position to generate real added value with IP video for our customers"
NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse is immediately available to be hosted on the customers’ IT infrastructure as software, just like NETAVIS Observer with iCAT. Ingram Micro offers NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse pre-installed on professional IVS Supermicro servers as sMart Appliance. Alternatively, a cloud solution of sMart Data Warehouse is provided. Both deployment options are already implemented successfully in pilot projects.
The official product launch version 1.2 of sMart Data Warehouse includes not only NETAVIS Video Analytics modules but also a light sensor from NOVATEC as well as 3D sensors from XOVIS and VIVOTEK.
Compared to the decades of predominance of closed, analogue CCTV systems, the last 20 years have been marked by a rapid digital evolution of video surveillance. After an initially hesitant conversion to IP based solutions, physical security has long since moved into the IT departments. Furthermore, the increased deployment of video analytics radically improved the quality of video surveillance.
By now, video analytics also collects business data which vastly exceeds classical security topics and can generate important business value. In-Store-Analytics is becoming a standard application of video surveillance in retail, and also other industries are frequently using IP video for counting, classification, and more.
NETAVIS Software has advanced this evolution in Europe and the Middle East. The open video management platform Observer with highest IT compliance has been continuously developed and the product iCAT represents decisive pioneer work in server based video analytics. The next logical step forward in IP video for NETAVIS Software is sMart Data Warehouse. Remarkable contribution to success can only be derived from video analytics data, if it is provided as user-specifically tailored information to guide decision making and action. NETAVIS Observer, iCAT, and sMart constitute the open platform for security and business, which can truly fulfil on the customers’ demand for added value through IP video now.
