The University of York has been using IndigoVision’s IP Video Security Solutions to help safeguard their students for several years now.

The most notable challenge with this project was the sheer size of the area that required monitoring. The university campus is split across two sites, the largest of which, Heslington East, is 117 hectares. Both sites have open access, with students, teachers and visitors coming and going at will.

Some 450 cameras now watch over the university campus; and while other vendors have pitched alternative solutions to the University none have been able to match the features and flexibility that IndigoVision provide, such as fast and efficient image search and a map-based interface.
