Idesco introduces secure access control reader to the market

Published on 14 February, 2012

Idesco is delighted to be introducing a pinnacle achievement in secure access control: the Access 8 CD 5 2.0 AES. Why is this reader so much more secure? Quite simply, a 128 bit AES cipher encrypts any data travelling from this already extremely secure access control reader to its hosting system's controller. Furthermore, all access control or security key data processed outside the reader housing is also encrypted. (In our next issue we will present our revolutionary innovation that securely decrypts and translates our reader's data stream across a large range of systems and controllers.)

Idesco's reader products have always included robust security features, like vandal-proofing, tamper alarms, and even encrypted reader-card communication in some cases.  The new rugged Access 8 CD 5 2.0 AES possesses all these features but also secures your reader-host data communication with virtually unbreakable encryption.  Finally, like its predecessors, Access 8 CD 5 2.0 joins Idesco's burgeoning eco20 product line, consuming 60% less energy than comparable products on the market.
