HID Global's partnership with MAXxess' eAXxess™ Security Management Software

The IP-based EDGE™ provides a complete access control hardware infrastructure with contactless smart card capabilities HID Global, the trusted leader in providing solutions for the delivery of secure identity, recently announced that the EDGE™  family of IP-based access control products will be incorporated into the eAXxess™ security system by MAXxess, creating a complete open architecture system that extends the IP network all the way to the door.

The IP-based EDGE™ provides a complete access control hardware infrastructure with contactless smart card capabilities.  eAXxess leverages EDGE's ability to provide fully distributed intelligence and decision making right to the door, using the IT infrastructure to the maximum extent possible.  Additionally, the open architecture also enables organizationsutilizing the EDGE-optimized eAXxess solution to build a customized security management system that easily integrates with existing card readers and other devices.  "HID Global is pleased to have MAXxess as an EDGE development partner.  eAXxess enabled with EDGE creates a powerful security management package that provides multi-tasking support and flexibility," said Brenton Scott, executive director of Business Development, Networked Access Solutions for HID Global.HID's IP-based EDGE provides a complete access control hardware infrastructure with contactless smart card capabilities  "Partners that embrace EDGE, such as MAXxess, realize the significant customer value enabled by the industry's shift towards IPbased solutions."

Using a single network connection, an EDGE device may be configured using eAXxess software, eliminating the need for additional software, hardware or interfaces.  Providing a simplified connection to IT infrastructures, eAXxess leverages the enterprise's IT infrastructure, allowing companies to derive benefits such as scalability and flexibility, as well as acquisition, installation, operational and ownership cost savings.
