ADT Remote Video Response Centre celebrates 1000 active customers

ADT, the UK's leading provider of electronic fire and security solutions, reached an important milestone this month by exceeding one thousand active customers at its Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC) in Manchester.

The RVRC, which opened in September 2004, is a state of the art facility offering customers a remote security monitoring and response service.  In 2005, the facility was accredited with British Standard 8418 (BS8418), which covers the design, positioning, configuration, performance, commissioning, operation and maintenance of closed circuit television (CCTV) systems.  Its customer base includes a range of properties including celebrity homes, businesses, schools and animal sanctuaries.

Tony Farrell, General Manager of ADT's Communications Division, commented: "We believe that we are the first company in the UK to have achieved this milestone and it is testament to the great work of the RVRC team.  The growth in our customer base shows the value that our customers place on having ADT manage their security systems and it also demonstrates the benefits of monitoring by our professionally trained RVRC analysts.  Demand for CCTV monitoring is growing and we will continue to develop and improve our products and services in line with our customers' expectations."

Bob Phillips, Operations Support Manager for Personna International UK Ltd, an ADT RVRC customer since October 2005, said: "Having ADT remotely monitor our site over the last year has given us complete piece of mind that our assets and employees are safe and secure 24 hours a day.  It has also allowed us to eliminate the cost of manned security to our business, as any trespass during shut down periods is immediately challenged by personnel at the RVRC via ADT audio devices in place around our facility.  At the same time the centre notifies me directly of the situation, allowing me to make decisions on any further actions that may be required."
