Genetec, a pioneer in the physical security industry and a leading provider of world-class unified IP security solutions, announced recently that it has been selected for the 7th consecutive year as one of Montreal's Top Employers. The annual competition profiles employers in Greater Montreal who lead in providing not only exceptional workplaces but also the most progressive and forward-thinking employee programmes.

Montreal's Top Employers is organised and evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers and published in collaboration with the Montreal Gazette. Organisations of all sizes and industries are eligible, and those vying to compete must complete an extensive application that details internal business strategies, corporate culture and staff incentives. Specifically, winners are chosen based on the following eight criteria: 1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere and Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

Genetec's highly-advanced security technology is considered to be some of the most innovative in the industry. Their customers from various markets such as transportation, government, retail, education often face challenging requirements and rely on Genetec solutions in their critical installations. To Genetec, this means recruiting the best talent for their teams to engineer, sell and support their solutions is of prime importance. But more than that, Genetec recognises that hardwork and dedication should always be rewarded.

"Rewarding outstanding achievement has always been at the root of our corporate culture and will always remain a priority for us," says Joëlle Couture, CRHA, Manager - Talent Management. "Even though working in this high-tech industry can be challenging, our colleagues are committed and passionate about providing cutting-edge security technology. We are so proud of receiving this award, and we are even more proud and appreciative of everyone who has devoted their time and effort towards the success of our organisation."

Apart from attractive health benefits, profit sharing plans and flex-hours, Genetec's creative approach to encouraging employee satisfaction and well-being contributed to their win. Throughout the year, Genetec has organised health seminars on various topics, hired specialists such as a massage therapist and a personal trainer, and planned social events to promote a more balanced lifestyle for all its employees. Overall, Genetec inspires a dynamic and energetic organisational culture and promotes independence, creativity, respect and balance in their workplace.

Genetec's ongoing global expansion and growth has prompted the opening of many new positions around the world.
