|UBM relocates IFSEC International from NEC after 16 years
UBM Live has officially launched IFSEC International and FIREX International’s move to ExCeL London in 2014. On Wednesday 6th March, over 200 partners and premier exhibitors across UBM’s Protection and Management Series – IFSEC, FIREX, Facilities Show and Safety & Health Expo – were given the opportunity to explore all the benefits ExCeL and the surrounding area has to offer. Relocating IFSEC International from the NEC after 16 years, the state of the art London venue will host all four shows under one roof from 17 - 19 June 2014.
Highlighting all the advantages of the move, Simon Parker, Managing Director, UBM Live London discussed what can be expected from the Series relocating. He said: “We are excited to be revealing more detail on our plans for ExCeL and the positive effect this will have. Following the extensive research conducted before the decision was made, we have taken on board all the feedback gathered from our exhibitors, visitors and partners to ensure the events are tailored to exactly what the markets want.”
From the impressive presentation suite at ExCeL, Parker enlightened premier exhibitors on how the next generation of the Protection and Management Series will become an even more integrated event. Uniting all parts of the buying chain, the new venue caters for visitors to flow freely between all four shows and provides countless opportunities for growth across all four sectors. Manufacturers and distributors, plus trade visitors will have greater access to end-users following the relocate, enabling a better understanding of the products and solutions available. Transport links to ExCeL from the rest of the capital will make attending the Series far more accessible to both UK and International visitors.

As one of the most connected cities in the world, London can easily be reached both internationally and within the UK. With London City Airport only a five minute taxi journey away from ExCeL, the airport offers access to over 40 international destinations. Easily accessible from all other London International airports, including Heathrow and Gatwick, international visitors with have the opportunity to visit from across the world. UK visitors will also be able to travel to the Capital hassle free, with high speed trains travelling directly into the city centre.
Showcasing Ecobuild, the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment and organised by UBM, guests received a tour to visualise the Protection and Management Series in 2014. Gaining a hands-on experience of the continuity from one hall to another, guests were able to get a flavour of what the modern venue will have to offer in 2014. Sampling the entertainment options in the surrounding area, partners and premier exhibitors were excited to witness all the prospects the relocation will provide. Commenting on IFSEC International moving to London, Peter Houlis MSyI, Managing Director, 2020 Vision Systems said: “Great news to hear that IFSEC International is set for a return to London. Given the world ranking of the UK’s security sector, it’s only natural that the world’s most prominent security event should take place in the nation’s capital.”
FIREX International’s London move has also received extensive support. Commenting on the official launch event, Nick Baldwin, Marketing Director at Baldwin Boxall Communications Ltd, said: “UBM has listened to the needs of FIREX exhibitors by moving the venue from NEC to ExCeL and Baldwin Boxall is delighted with the move. FIREX has been a key exhibition for us and we are sure 2014’s show will be a great success due to the new exciting location.”
