The IB970 is a factory-encoded active tag that includes a lithium battery which enables it to be read by the BC5516-Cotag loop reader from distances of up to three meters (depending on loop construction). It is designed to be attached to the underside of motor vehicles, but it is also frequently mounted under wheelchairs in hospitals and care facilities. Please keep in mind that it is not recommended to use the IB970 with any readers other than the BC5516-Cotag loop reader.
