SALTO Systems has launched a brand new electronic escutcheon designed for use in the educational environment. It ensures schools; colleges and universities are a secure, safe place to learn by enabling buildings and facilities to be quickly locked down during a security or other emergency event.In such a situation it could be safer for students and staff to remain in a classroom, securely locked in until the emergency is over, so SALTO AMOK escutcheons enable authorised users to put the electronic locks into a standalone lock down mode, securing the room until help or the emergency services arrive on scene.Compatible with almost any type of door, SALTO AMOK electronic escutcheons have a built in card reader on the inner escutcheon. This inner reader enables users to activate the AMOK function mode in order to lock down the room quickly. Only authorised users with AMOK privileges on their access plan can activate it.The AMOK function mode is initially configured on a user's card access plan by the School, College or University Security Manager via SALTO Pro Access or HAMS software. In the event of a security event, a teacher or other person with AMOK privileges on their SALTO access credential just needs to present it to the inside reader of the SALTO AMOK electronic escutcheon. A green light on the escutcheon signals the AMOK function has been activated and occupants are then securely locked inside the room.If anyone tries to enter the room when the AMOK mode is activated the outside reader shows red and the SALTO electronic escutcheon will deny access keeping the room and its occupants safe and secure.Of course, for security reasons, an authorised AMOK card with lockdown override privileges (typically held by a Headmaster, Principal or Security Manager) will be able to access the locked down room at all times. In this case the reader will again show green and access will be given so occupants can be moved to a safer location or enable Police or emergency services to enter the room.During normal use, to deactivate AMOK mode, the teacher or other person in the room with AMOK privileges on their card, simply presents the card to the inside reader for a second time, the reader will show green and AMOK mode will be deactivated.Completely integrated in the SALTO XS4 platform, SALTO AMOK electronic locks are available in a wide range of models. They can be installed using the existing mortise lock in almost any kind of door, even narrow profile doors, and are compatible with European, Scandinavian, ANSI and Australian mortise locks. 

SALTO XS4 Energy Saving Devices that helps to save up to 65%* of a hotel room or student dorms electricity consumption and unlike standard (magnetic stripe) energy savers, only authorised SALTO key cards will switch on the lights. It is also available in a connected on-line version, which as well as energy saving indicates in real time the presence of guests or staff in a room, logging the information directly into the hotel PC. When a guest enters the room and inserts their card into the ESD it switches on all electrical equipment. When staff enter the room for cleaning or maintenance, the ESD recognises their staff card and switches on only the electrical equipment they need to do their work.

SALTO WRMKP Key Pad allows for additional use of a Personal Identification Number (PIN). It features door code only option for non key holders. It also includes Timed PIN option for ID carrier only operation and then ID carrier plus PIN use. The SALTO GEO half cylinder is suitable for swing handle servers rack as well as for use on applications where a control of the operation of the rack is needed enhancing the control and security of the access to the server racks. All communications between the carrier and the SALTO GEO cylinder are encrypted and secure. It also offers high security via high resistance and hardened anti-drill protection.

The WRM6000 is the SALTO Contact Smart Card wall reader. It reads encrypted data from the carriers and then communicates it to the control units. It also allows for updating of the carriers via the SALTO Virtual Network technology. The WRM6000 features a built-in heater making it suitable for use indoors and out, including environments exposed to harsh weather conditions.

The SALTO encoder is a compact device which reads, encodes and updates cards. It also permits automatic key issuing in large and complex properties, enabling users to carry out key assignment simply by having the encoder in a busy area where the user can get their card assigned just by presenting a card to the reader without any assistance required from the access control manager. Resistance against dust or ice due high protection against corrosion.

Created for the Hotel environment, the SALTO desktop reader is designed to read data from the R&W carriers and send it to an external device, usually a Point of Sale terminal. This can be useful in a PMS environment and works with industry standard protocol. Main features and benefits: Configuration by dip switches to control data to be read and the interface with the external device. The interface with the external device can be RS232, OMRON and WIEGAND. Current required: 12v DC source (included). The SALTO GEO Swiss profile half cylinder is specially designed for doors with a Swiss Round profile cylinder.mortise lock and where a double control (entrance & exit) function is needed. SALTO Systems European profile GEO cylinders have received BZ+ physical security equipment certification from VdS, one of Germany’s leading independent testing institutions for fire protection and security. As approved by VdS, these electronic cylinders deliver high levels of protection against picking attacks and medium protection against aggravated burglary. They are approved for use as ancillary control equipment alongside burglar alarm systems (according to VdS 2119). Users can have up to an 8-digit PIN Code. XS4 Keypad can be operated in 3 modes: proximity card only, PIN (Personal Identification Number) code + proximity card or keypad code only.
