HRDPX16, part of the Honeywell Performance Series, supports continuous, event, and combined continuous/event recording and is configurable per channel. Upon detection of motion, HRDPX can automatically boost the ips recording rate to capture additional details of the scene. In addition to recording at a rate of up to 400 ips PAL, HRDPX16 supports high-end capabilities such as user-friendly front panel control, mouse operation, IR remote control, a Set-up Wizard for fast and easy DVR set-up, Express Search to quickly find the video evidence, an internal DVD-RW and two USB ports for copying evidence to portable media. Once video evidence is located, the user can save video clips to the PC and/or to portable media such as a USB stick using Remote Software. A viewer executable is included with each clip that eliminates the need to install a viewer separately on the PC used to view the clip.HRDPX16 can be remotely accessed by system administrators and other DVR clients using a PC via web browser or via the powerful Remote Software included with each unit. The advanced feature set of the Remote Software allows the administrator to configure, update and operate the DVR from a central location. The ability to configure the unit remotely and download software updates from a central site saves time and money by reducing the need for periodic site visits. System operators can have individual privileges enabled or denied for functions such as live view, playback, backup, and PTZ control. E-mail notifications can be set up to alert a system administrator of DVR operational status conditions and site status notifications upon detection of motion or in the event of sensor activity.Market OpportunitiesSupporting an advanced feature set and low pricing, HRDPX16 is ideal for a wide variety of surveillance applications including government, retail, financial, warehouse and educational facilities. HRDPX16 is well suited to support applications requiring high image per second recording such as crime prevention installations and capturing maximum detail for building entrances and exits. In addition to Remote Software, remote access using the web browser opens up many new application possibilities for HRDPX16. Business owners on the move in today's highly mobile society can check up on their businesses from virtually any location using a PC with a web browser and Internet access.Features16 looping video inputs16 audio inputs, 1 audio outputContinuous recording during playback and during transmitting to remote siteMouse control via front panelBuilt-in DVD-RW drive and two USB 2.0 portsRecords up to 400 images per second PALPTZ dome control for a wide variety of protocolsRemote access through web browser and/or Remote Software, LAN/WAN (internal NIC), and DSL (remote access software included)Self-diagnostics with automatic notification including hard disk drive S.M.A.R.T. protocolInfrared remote control includedEmbedded Linux OS - OS embedded in flashDVRs in the Honeywell ‘Performance Series' ideally complement the extensive range of Honeywell Performance cameras. Honeywell adds entry level H.264 digital video recorders to its Performance range
Honeywell adds entry level H.264 digital video recorders to its Performance range

The HREP Series from Honeywell is a low-cost selection of embedded digital video recorders (DVRs), part of its Performance range. Each HREP is economically priced to reduce the cost of the customer's initial outlay. The entry level DVRs offer clear, crisp video using H.264 video compression and a rich feature set, in addition to instant remote access functionality via any web browser. The low cost of the HREP DVR makes it ideal for residential surveillance applications as well as the traditional lower-end commercial deployments that require an entry level solution.Simple to install and set up, via the user-friendly USB mouse or IR remote control, the HREP DVR requires minimal training and is designed to minimise time spent on site by the installer, leaving them time to complete a higher number of customer calls and maximise revenue. However, if expert advice is required, the HREP is also supported by Honeywell's technical support team.Offering browser-based access and removing the need for any desktop software, the HREP DVR provides the end user with the peace of mind associated with being able to quickly check his/her business or residential premises from a distance using almost any PC connected to the internet. This web-based approach provides users with access to the vast majority of the functions available on-premise such as ‘live view', ‘search' or ‘burn evidence video clip' when they are offsite with access to the internet. The product is also equipped with a powerful search engine and quick playback tool to enable end users under pressure to find video clips quickly, rapidly and reliably. In addition, HREP's ability to fast-burn the necessary files to a low cost CD and/or USB sticks means an end user can rapidly transfer all of the relevant information to the police."The fact that our new HREP DVR is so competitively priced means it can convincingly rival the host of lower cost alternatives that have appeared on the market in recent years," comments Jeremy Kimber, EMEA commercial marketing leader at Honeywell Security Group. "In addition to the cost benefits, we believe it offers installers new business opportunities, as well as providing customers with the benefits that web-based remote access delivers."For further information about Honeywell's new HREP DVR, or the Performance range, click here.
