Hanwha Techwin America adds space saving 1.3 Megapixel network flat dome camera to its ‘affordable’ LiteNet HD network camera series

Samsung has added a space saving 1.3 Megapixel flat dome camera to its ‘affordable’ LiteNet HD network camera series. Measuring just 100 x 115 x 42mm, the SND-5010 is designed to provide an affordable HD video surveillance solution for environments where there may be limited space, such as in lifts, entrance lobbies, stair wells, small shops and transport applications. “As is the case with the other six models in the LiteNet camera series, the SND-5010 is ideal for applications where a large number of HD cameras may be required,” said Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “Regardless however of the number of cameras, the SND-5010’s low price point enables it to be considered as a cost alternative to analogue cameras at locations where there may be a need to capture evidence grade images.” The ONVIF compliant SND-5010 supports H.264 and MJPEG compression methods, providing the option to simultaneously stream images to multiple locations at various frame rates and resolutions up to 1.3 megapixel (1280 x 1024) and it also supports 16:9 HD (1280 x 720) display. A number of users are therefore able to monitor live images at one location, record video evidence at another location, or view live and recorded images on a Smartphone or iPhone via the Samsung iPOLiS application. The SND-5010, which is equipped with a 3mm fixed lens, has a scene change tampering feature which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or if there is unauthorised movement of a camera away from its usual field of view. Despite its compact  size, the SND-5010 is packed full of user and installer friendly features, including four programmable Motion Detection zones, 12 programmable Privacy Zones and PoE (Power over Ethernet). It also has a Day/Night feature which automatically configures the camera to capture either colour or B/W images depending on the prevailing lighting conditions, and utilises third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNR) to eliminate image noise in low light conditions to enable bandwidth and recording space savings. Fully compatible with Samsung’s license free NET-i-Viewer software, the SND-5010 has a multi–language web page for easy set up. The other models in the Samsung LiteNet line-up are: SNB-5001 - 1.3 megapixel network camera SND-5011 - 1.3 megapixel network dome camera with 3mm fixed lens SND-5061 - 1.3 megapixel network dome camera with 3~8mm varifocal lens SNB-7001 - 3 megapixel Full HD network camera SND-7011 - 3 megapixel Full HD network dome camera with 3mm fixed lens SND-7061 - 3 megapixel Full HD network dome camera with 3~8mm varifocal lens Samsung’s professional security products are widely accessible across Europe via an extensive network of distributors. SND-5080F - Hanwha Techwin America introduce new megapixel HD network dome camera
SND-5080F - Hanwha Techwin America introduce new megapixel HD network dome camera

Samsung has introduced the SND-5080, a megapixel HD network dome camera which allow users to gain maximum benefit from the very latest megapixel camera technology. The SND-5080, which is packed full with advanced features such as Intelligent Video Analytics, incorporates Samsung's WiseNet1 DSP chipset, which has been specially designed for megapixel HD network domes and cameras. The H.264, MPEG4, MJPEG and JPEG compression methods incorporated into the WiseNet1 DSP, provides users with the ability to simultaneously transmit images to multiple locations at various frame rates and at different resolutions including 1.3megapixel (1280 x 1024), 16:9 HD (1280 x 720), QVGA (320 x 240), SVGA (800x 600) and VGA (640 x 480). With such a wide range of compression methods and resolutions to choose from, a number of different users, if authorised, will be able to simultaneously monitor live images at one location, record video evidence at another or view live and recorded images on a Smartphone. At the same time JPEG images of an incident can be attached to an alarm email notification with the additional facility of storing pre and post-alarm images on a camera's internal SD memory card. The ONVIF compliant SND -5080 1.3 megapixel HD network dome camera has an Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) capability which includes optical tripwire and enter/exit direction detection as well as Appear/Disappear function to detect the movement of objects. IVA also has a scene change tampering function which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is an unauthorised movement of a camera away from its usual field of view. Other key features include: The latest CMOS image sensor that achieves clearer images than a normal megapixel CCD, especially under low light conditions. Progressive scan which provides a much higher quality of video capture - especially of moving objects. The well defined horizontal lines makes it possible, for example, to read car number plates on moving vehicles without the motion blur effect.  The option of utilising Samsung's license free NET-I viewer or SVM-S1 Centralised Management Software (CMS) centralised network management which provides out-of-the-box network capability for all connected Samsung products. 1280 x 1024 resolution. 16: 9 HD (720p) resolution support. True Day/Night camera with ICR. 2.8 ~ 10mm Mega pixel varifocal lens (F1.2). Bi-directional audio support. SD memory slot for internal recording. PoE (Power over Ethernet)

Single channel ONVIF compliant encoder solution from Hanwha Techwin America
Single channel ONVIF compliant encoder solution from Hanwha Techwin America

Samsung has launched a new single channel encoder which provides a cost-effective and easy to implement method of adding analogue cameras to an IP/network based surveillance system. The SPE-100 encoder enables images captured by an analogue camera to be transmitted in real-time across a network at 4CIF resolution. A multi-streaming feature provides the option of utilising H.264, MPEG-4 or MJPEG compression to minimise bandwidth consumption by simultaneously transmitting images at various frame rates and resolutions to different locations on a network. "The SPE-100 has been designed for customers who wish to exploit the benefits of transmitting video over IP, whilst at the same time taking advantage of their existing analogue cameras and domes," said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "Significantly, the SPE-100 supports both Samsung and Pelco D/P telemetry protocols. This will be of particular importance to customers who want to include analogue speed domes within their network based surveillance systems."  In the event of an alarm, the SPE-100 can be programmed to trigger a dome to move to a preset position and record images relating to the alarm onto an SD card, whilst at the same time it can send an e-mail notification. Samsung's NET-I Viewer software, which is supplied free of charge with the SPE-100, provides customers with an easy to use graphical user interface. Authorised users can also gain access to live images, or images recorded onto a memory card inserted in the SPE-100's SD slot, via a web browser. The ONVIF compliant SPE-100 has a Video Loop Through feature enabling captured images to be shared with other devices, such as a display monitor or locally based DVR, prior to being encoded for transmission over a network. The SPE-100 also offers bi-directional audio allowing interactive communication between a camera's location and a control room.
