ZeroEyes, the creators of the first AI-based gun detection video analytics platform to earn the full U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation, announced that Michigan’s Mason County Central School District (MCCSD) has expanded its deployment of the company’s proactive gun detection and intelligent situational awareness platform.
This expansion follows two successful years of collaboration in protecting staff and students from gun-related violence.

Encouraged by the technology's impact, the school board has extended its coverage area
Located east of Ludington, MCCSD serves approximately 1,200 students across four schools: Scottville Elementary, Mason County Upper Elementary, Mason County Middle School, and Mason County High School.
The district employs over 200 teachers and staff. ZeroEyes was deployed in 2023, supported by increased state funding for school security following the Oxford High School shooting. Encouraged by the technology's impact, the school board has extended its coverage area.
MCCSD’s existing digital security cameras
ZeroEyes' AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness software is layered onto MCCSD’s existing digital security cameras. If a gun is identified, images are instantly shared with the ZOC, the industry's only U.S.-based, fully in-house operation centre, which is staffed 24/7/365 by military and law enforcement veterans.
If these experts determine that the threat is valid, they dispatch alerts and actionable intelligence — including visual description, gun type, and last known location — to first responders and local staff as quickly as 3 to 5 seconds from detection.

It is open to local schools, law enforcement, and media, and will feature an in-depth safety and security seminar, demonstration, Q&A, food and drinks.
