G4S Secure Solutions (USA) is proud to announce Bernard J. Scaglione has joined the company as Director of Healthcare Vertical Markets. Mr. Scaglione is a profoundly knowledgeable safety and security expert with an extensive background and senior leadership abilities.  With more than 25 years in healthcare security, working with nationally recognised hospitals and healthcare institutions of every size and service, Scaglione is expected to be instrumental as G4S transforms security and safety best practices in the healthcare industry with leading edge ideas, innovative new products and best in class Custom Protection Officer personnel.

"I am very excited to be with G4S. The healthcare market is in a state of change and G4S is well situated to provide the solutions needed in healthcare security," said Scaglione. "G4S is positioned well above the competition in providing quality services to the healthcare security sector. I look forward to working with everyone to educate, offer expertise and expand our healthcare market."

Hospitals and healthcare institutions are some of the nation's most active public places as they provide care for people when they are most vulnerable. Because of the large volume of activity and risks associated with servicing their communities, healthcare facilities can become targets for criminal activity if left unprotected. G4S healthcare has programs and processes that reduce risks within security sensitive areas like the Emergency Department, Maternity and Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Information Technology, the Pharmacy and Medical Records.

Mr. Scaglione joins G4S after fifteen years as Director of Security for New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he directed security and fire safety services for the multi-state operation which included a five million square foot hospital, college, office and residential complex with a $7.2 million budget. He holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University.

Currently, Mr. Scaglione is the chairman of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International Healthcare Council. The ASIS Healthcare Security Council is a recognised industry wide source of information and leadership on issues affecting healthcare security.

"Ben Scaglione brings tremendous wisdom, experience and energy to our healthcare vertical market," said Drew Levine, President of G4S Secure Solutions North America. "With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Mr. Scaglione will be an invaluable resource to G4S and to our clients as we continue to lead the way throughout the industry. He brings unique and valuable experiences from within the medical security field, which will ensure our success in meeting today's challenges for the industry."

In addition to his extensive corporate experience, Mr. Scaglione is a frequent industry speaker, educator and writer. He is a regular contributing columnist to several publications including Security Management magazine and Journal of Healthcare Protection Management.

G4S healthcare solutions are committed to patients, visitors and employees. The G4S security officer program is one of the best in the industry providing high quality, highly trained officers who understand healthcare environments and continually strive to provide a safe and secure atmosphere for all persons utilising healthcare facilities.
