The 30-megapixel camera is the latest addition to the company’s Professional Series, an innovative model Avigilon believes will drive competition in the security industry’s race for optimal resolution. Avigilon’s 7K HD Pro Avigilon’s 7K HD Pro uses Avigilon Control Center (ACC) software, featuring its High Definition Stream Management (HDSM) technology. It offers a horizontal resolution in excess of 7,000 pixels and more than 30 million pixels in total. The camera also performs in “extreme lighting conditions,” supported by Avigilon’s LightCatcher technology, which boosts low-light performance. Critics have raised the argument that the technology may only be necessary for certain applications – specifically for casino use – and is unnecessary for many other commercial uses. So, is there ever such a thing as too good?
