The PSIA will show continued momentum for its Physical Logical Access Interoperability (PLAI) spec at ISC West 2019. “In past demos we were able to show some exchange of records between PACS systems, but this year we will have six vendors, and demonstrate existing employee identity data sets, which can be passed to other systems in the security environment beyond having just a clean start,” said David Bunzel, Executive Director of the PSIA. Commercial PLAI agent One of the critical components is the introduction of an independent commercial PLAI Agent by Cruatech of Dublin, Ireland. This Agent acts as central hub, to allow interchange between disparate PACS and biometric vendors. “The introduction of the Cruatech Agent provides the means to effectively provide solutions to enterprise customers, solving an important problem in the industry–finding a method to have a single trusted source in an enterprise environment,” said Darren Wieder, Financial Director of Advanced Solutions for Convergint Technologies. LenelS2 will showcase its new commercial PLAI adapter during the demo. “Our customers have been requesting PLAI and we believe it provides an effective means to support this industry need,” said John Marchioli, Product Manager, Software Platforms, LenelS2.
Altronix Corp. announced that it has received Lenel factory certification and joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP). Altronix’s LINQ technology interfaces with the OnGuard access control system and facilitates the remote monitoring and reporting of power diagnostics. These alerts minimise system downtime and eliminate unnecessary and costly service calls. "Altronix has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard. This provides users with a single software platform to monitor power supply status, receive alert messages, and manage settings at multiple sites with ease,” said John Marchioli, OAAP Product Management, Lenel. Employing an intuitive user interface, LINQ Dashboard allows users to manage multiple sites with ease, regardless of the number of monitored devices.
ievo Ltd, global provider of biometric fingerprint recognition products, announced that it received Lenel factory certification and joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance program. ievo biometric fingerprint recognition products can now interface with the OnGuard access control system, providing a streamlined approach to fingerprint enrollment. “ievo has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to the OnGuard system. Having this interface will provide our customers with a great biometric option to enhance their security,” said John Marchioli, OAAP product management, Lenel. “We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program.” ievo biometric fingerprint recognition solution ievo developed, designed and tested the specialised integrated fingerprint enrollment software in-house ievo developed, designed and tested the specialised integrated fingerprint enrolment software in-house, which was then certified by Lenel engineers, verifying that it interfaces with the OnGuard access control system. The fingerprint enrolment software connects to the Lenel server for user information, as well as the ievo Sync server for enhanced management of the control boards and distribution of the fingerprint templates. The interface also allows for easy enrolment of new templates, along with template management. With the increasing cost and complexity of managing security, the integration is a cost-effective method for systems migration and the protection of legacy investments. Not only is the interface efficient but it allows simultaneous fingerprint enrolment at multiple locations - providing directors and managers with the ability to remotely oversee the business. Should your company boast multiple premises, those templates will be securely stored on the ievo control board and can be accessed at each location. Biometric fingerprint access control systems The biometric fingerprint access control systems are a viable alternative to the more traditional cards and PINs systems, substantially reducing the risk of any security breaches. This announcement for ievo also marks another strong interface for the company, and a larger, worldwide presence in the security industry. Shaun Oakes, Managing Director of ievo Ltd says, “2018 has been a fantastic year for us at ievo as we expand our reach and make our products more accessible to the wider access control segment. The interface with the Lenel OnGuard access control system will enable an efficient and cost-saving system migration and further protection of legacy investments. The opportunity also helps to boost the presence of the ievo brand worldwide.”
Senstar announced that Senstar Symphony (formerly Aimetis Symphony) has received Lenel factory certification and joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP). Senstar Symphony interfaces with the OnGuard access control system, providing customers with an enhanced platform for security monitoring. Since that time, the two companies have worked in parallel to continue to provide advanced perimeter intrusion detection systems, video management systems and analytics solutions. Over the coming months, Senstar and Aimetis will become one company, resulting in reduced complexity, improved performance and unified support.
Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), has received Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP) Certification confirmation for the integration of OnGuard® access control 7.3, 7.2 and 7.1 via Milestone XProtect Access 2017 R2. With this certification, Lenel customers using Milestone VMS can view and manage the OnGuard access control events from the XProtect user interface, improving their operational efficiency. Prior to this integration, customers were required to switch over to the Lenel OnGuard Alarm Monitoring application for managing access control events. Now customers have the option to manage and view traditional access control events in the Milestone XProtect interface depending on their operational preference. Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program “The OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP) embodies Lenel’s commitment to providing our customers with as many options as possible to customise a security solution that meets their needs,” said John Marchioli, Director of Strategic Alliances, Lenel. Through the Lenel OAAP Certification, OnGuard users not only gain a wealth of customisable solutions, but also the assurance that any interface they choose has been tested and certified by Lenel for stability and uninterrupted OnGuard functionality. “Customers increasingly are demanding the efficiencies that come from unifying operations of multiple security systems" “Customers increasingly are demanding the efficiencies that come from unifying operations of multiple security systems, whenever possible. Lenel and Milestone share the same business goals of open platform architecture that enables just such beneficial integrated solutions,” said Reinier Tuinzing, Strategic Alliances Manager – Americas, Milestone Systems. Open platform benefits For years, security operators have been using multiple systems in parallel to accomplish their safety goals, many from various manufacturers with disparate protocols and structures. Thanks to open platform Application Program Interfaces (APIs), this scenario is becoming a thing of the past. Time is saved, and situational awareness is improved for more appropriate, faster responses. Certifying the integration with documented results of the testing ensures partners and customers greater confidence in both the installation and operation of the combined solution, worldwide. More information on these certifications can be found in the Milestone Solution Finder. Milestone free online eLearning courses Milestone also offers two free online eLearning courses on how to install and configure both integrations between Lenel OnGuard and Milestone XProtect VMS. These courses are available on the Milestone Partner Learning Portal in the Developing and Configuring Integrations eLearning category. Anyone who sets up a My Milestone login, including end users, can access these free eLearning courses. This strengthening of the strategic alliance between Lenel and Milestone follows the announcement made earlier this year that the companies’ combined offerings are now available in the Americas through the Lenel sales channel, and with reduced licensing fees.
