Blackline Safety expands with Cologne and Abu Dhabi offices

Blackline Safety Corp., a global pioneer in connected safety technology, has announced plans to open two new international offices — one in Cologne, Germany, and another in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The expansion strengthens Blackline’s operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), bringing the company closer to its rapidly-growing customer base in these regions. Blackline’s Cologne office adds to its established network in the U.K. and France, providing localised presence and coordination for regional sales, service, and customer engagement across Europe and Africa. Abu Dhabi office The Abu Dhabi office will enhance engagement with customers in the energy, utilities, and petrochemical sectors, providing localised training and service. The new facility builds on Blackline’s growing presence in the Middle East, following a multi-year purchase agreement with ADNOC. “We’re excited to bring Blackline’s global operations even closer to our customers across Europe and the Middle East,” said Cody Slater, CEO and Chair of Blackline Safety. “Opening regional offices in Cologne and Abu Dhabi strengthens our local service and support capabilities and positions us to better partner with global enterprise customers.” The expansion coincides with Blackline Safety’s 10th consecutive year exhibiting at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi, UAE (November 3–6, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Hall 2 – Stand 2460), and its participation in A+A 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany (November 4–7, Hall 4 – Stand F06) — two major global trade events for safety and energy professionals. Cloud-based safety platform At both events, Blackline will showcase major updates to its cloud-based safety platform, which were recently unveiled at the NSC 2025 Safety Congress & Expo — including ZoneAware Geofencing, an upgraded Loner Mobile app, improved gas sensor visibility, and new bulk management automation tools. Together, these advancements give safety and operations teams deeper situational awareness, simplify program management, strengthen compliance and efficiency, and extend protection to more workers across their operations.

Blackline Safety secures $1.8M water utility contract

Blackline Safety Corp., a global pioneer in connected safety technology, announced a new $1.8 million contract with a major North American water and wastewater utility provider based in California.  The order includes more than 560 devices, comprised of G7c wearable gas detectors and Blackline Docks to streamline device calibration and charging. The agreement also includes four years of self-monitoring services, ensuring ongoing visibility and heightened protection for the company’s workers. Real-time data and monitoring capabilities Water industry workers face multiple hazards on the job, such as gas exposures, confined spaces “This contract is an important step in our continued expansion across the water and wastewater sector,” said Sean Stinson, President and Chief Growth Officer, Blackline Safety. “Our real-time data and monitoring capabilities and top-to-bottom solution set us apart from the competition. This deal reflects the increasing demand for advanced connected safety solutions across essential infrastructure, so help is available when it’s needed most.” Water industry workers face multiple hazards on the job, such as gas exposures, confined spaces, potential falls, adverse weather, customer confrontations, and working alone. The award-winning G7c—with features such as SOS latch, fall and no motion detection, and real-time connectivity—provides a critical lifeline in case of emergency. Steady expansion  Over the past several years, Blackline Safety has steadily expanded its footprint across the utilities sector, supporting deployments with major providers in the U.S., UK/Europe, and Australia. This consistent progress reflects the increasing reliance of critical infrastructure industries on connected safety solutions to protect their frontline workers.

Blackline Safety at NSC: New software enhancements

Blackline Safety Corp., a global pioneer in connected safety technology, is unveiling new software enhancements at the 2025 National Safety Council (NSC) Safety Congress & Expo in Denver, Colorado, September 12-18, 2025.  Blackline is rolling out significant updates to its cloud-based safety platform, Blackline Live. Highlights include upgraded bulk management tools that automate manual tasks, a refreshed loner mobile app that extends protection to lower risk workers, and all-new geofencing capabilities that help organisations strengthen compliance and efficiency. Hardware breakthroughs “From software innovation to hardware breakthroughs, we’re delivering on our promise to get every worker home safe,” said Cody Slater, CEO and Chair of Blackline Safety. “NSC marks the start of an exciting season of announcements for Blackline.” Attendees are invited to preview these enhancements at booth #1506 at NSC: Updates to automate and scale operations: Bulk Actions: Simplifies fleet management with the ability to add and manage hundreds of alerts, zones, and team members at once. Alert Notification Manager: Delivers browser pop-up notifications of active safety events so alerts are seen faster. SMS Number Assignment: Improves SMS alert reliability with local delivery across regions. Updates to streamline compliance:  Enhanced Bump Test and Calibration Certificates: Makes audits and compliance easier with new data fields, an improved layout and multilingual support. Auto Bump Test & Calibration: For those with EXO 8 monitors in their fleet, an upgrade kit will enable this feature keeping the EXO compliant without manual effort. Updates to improve worker protection: -Sensor Readings page: Provides live sensor readings across devices, making it easier to flag abnormal levels and respond to incidents faster. AlertLink: Shares alerts between nearby devices to speed team responses. Updated Analytics & Alerts Reporting: Offers a more comprehensive view of alerts and emergency response so trends are easier to spot and act on. Updated Loner Mobile app: Extends protection to lower-risk lone workers, who don’t need rugged gas detection devices, right from their smartphones. ZoneAware geofencing Blackline will also introduce ZoneAware, a powerful new geofencing capability that enables safety teams to monitor and manage contractors and employees or devices within preset areas. Developed in direct response to customer demand, ZoneAware elevates real-time visibility, helping organisations optimise resources, track time spent in specific zones (including high-risk areas), and see how quickly employees get to muster points — which together strengthen compliance, emergency preparedness, and efficiency. Along with previewing these software enhancements, NSC attendees can hear from Blackline Business Development Director Yves Carrier. Yves will present at the Safety Huddle on how organisations can leverage safety data and AI to make proactive, data-driven decisions that strengthen compliance and reduce risk. Date: Tuesday, Sept. 16 Time: 10:30–10:50 a.m. MT Location: NSC Safety Huddle booth (#2336) EXO 8 area monitor Last year at NSC, they introduced the EXO 8 area monitor, and over the last 12 months they have expanded the platform with new configurations, including gamma radiation protection. The number of Blackline fire-hazmat customers grew 175% from April 2024 to April 2025, with thousands of users now using EXO 8 across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. EXO 8 has also earned seven major industry awards, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, the Préventica Paris Innovation Award, two OH&S Industrial Hygiene Awards, and most recently two OH&S New Product of the Year Awards. EXO 8’s gamma detection “With EXO 8’s gamma detection, it’s even more valuable for hazmat teams, offering broader protection and the ability to use it in public safety scenarios,” said Chris Johnson, Deputy Chief, Westchester County Department of Emergency Services.  Following NSC, Blackline will demonstrate product innovations at upcoming international events, including A+A in Düsseldorf (Nov. 4-7) and ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi (Nov. 3-6).
