Viking products with Enhanced Weather Protection (EWP) have a circuit board that is encased in a strong polymer material. The potting material won’t crack in cold weather, it provides protection against moisture and condensation, and it’s an excellent electrical insulator.
In addition to the potted circuit board, Enhanced Weather Protection products also feature internally sealed push buttons, DIP switches, and volume control pots. Additional gaskets for the speaker, mic and face plate make EWP products compliant with an IP66 rating.
